Product Details

This 1980s vintage English Eccentrics blouse was made in England from a white pure cotton fabric. English Eccentrics were known for their amazing prints and textiles, which were worn by the likes of Helena Bonham Carter, Prince and Mick Jagger, and today their designs are held by the likes of the V&A and the Art Institute of Chicago.

This shirt is a fantastic example of their artistic textiles, it has a satirical pop art style print of 'bullish' bulls urging the viewer to 'Buy Old Boy' and 'earish' bears wanting to 'Sell Old Stick' which are clever references to the 1980s Yuppies / Wall Street Brokers, this is then furthered by the signature fabric of the yuppie, a blue vertical stripe. The menswear shirting inspired design has an incredible puffed sleeve with unusual pleating creating an architectural shape and a nipped waist. A real work of wearable art.
